As a Health Care Assistant within Bupa's Diagnostics & Secondary Care services, you'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, compassionate and holistic care. Working alongside registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, you'll provide hands‑on support throughout the patient journey, helping us maintain consistently high standards of care and service.
How you'll help us make health happen
* Deliver high‑quality physical and psychological care with compassion.
* Support patients throughout their visit, ensuring a safe, consistent, customer‑focused experience.
* Clearly and confidently communicate patient needs, escalating concerns to the registered nursing team.
* Assist with holistic nursing interventions as delegated, working within your competencies.
* Undertake clinical duties such as transporting specimens, updating care records, and supporting clerical tasks.
* Maintain a working knowledge of emergency procedures, including cardiac arrest and fire safety.
* Support with stock checks, equipment readiness and maintaining a well‑resourced clinical area.
* Mentor and support new staff during orientation, contributing to a positive team environment.
* Uphold infection control standards, patient safeguarding, and adherence to clinical governance policies.
* Actively participate in training and development, seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Key Skills / Qualifications
Essential
* NVQ Level 2 in Direct Patient Care or Care Certificate.
* Basic Life Support (BLS).
* Competent written and spoken English.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working in an outpatient or clinical setting.
* Venepuncture / phlebotomy skills.
Desirable
* NVQ Level 3 in Direct Patient Care.
* First Aid certification.
