About the Role An established engineering consultancy is looking for a Fire Engineer to join its growing team. Key Responsibilities Develop fire engineering strategies in accordance with BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7974, Approved Document B, and other relevant standards. Design and evaluate active fire protection systems including sprinklers, water mist, and gaseous suppression systems. Conduct fire risk assessments and provide expert fire safety advice to clients. Contribute to computational fire modelling (e.g., CFD, FDS) where necessary. Undertake fire systems design using BIM software such as Revit, ensuring coordination with other disciplines. Collaborate with clients, architects, and regulators to ensure compliance with UK fire safety regulations. Prepare fire strategy reports, evacuation plans, and technical documentation. Support senior engineers and contribute to mentoring junior team members. Requirements Bachelors or Masters degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 25 years of relevant experience in fire engineering consultancy or a similar role. Strong knowledge of UK fire safety codes and standards (e.g., BS 9999, BS 7974, ADB). Experience with fire suppression systems (sprinklers, water mist, gaseous systems). Familiarity with design and simulation tools such as Revit, AutoSprink, PyroSim, FDS, or CFAST (preferred but not essentialtraining can be provided).
