Principal Software Engineer (C++, Python, Linux)
Location: Oxfordshire (Hybrid) | Salary: £65,000 pa plus benefits
Are you passionate about technically leading and mentoring a team of Software Engineers utilizing C++ and Python on Linux? Do you enjoy passing on your knowledge to develop future engineers? If so, this Principal Software Engineer role could be perfect for you. Our client has experienced rapid growth recently and is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead, mentor, and develop their talented software team during an exciting period of innovation.
In this role, you will develop and support software applications and drivers for various products. You will be responsible for ensuring projects meet internal and external customer requirements, from concept design through to production. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
1. A degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a Science/Materials subject
2. Experience in ARM-based software development using C/C++
3. Experience with network and communication buses
4. Proficiency with tools such as CMake, GIT (or other source control), bug tracking systems, and debuggers
5. Experience developing complex software applications
6. Experience with control systems
7. Proficiency in Python
8. Experience with distributed systems
9. Database interaction and SQL queries
10. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS)
Our client offers a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Flexible start and finish times are available to suit your schedule.
