Job Description
The Principal Teacher - Equity, Excellence and Wellbeing is responsible for supporting our young people and families to access educational opportunities. This includes providing targeted support for low-income families and students eligible for free school meals. The role involves delivering information, interventions, and resources to reduce economic barriers, lower the cost of the school day, and help close the poverty-related attainment gap. The focus areas are literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing.
This is a fixed-term position until 2 July 2026.
The post holder must demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery and continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and organization.

Requirements
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. If you have spent more than 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
The salary will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or become eligible for GTC Scotland registration. For teachers qualified outside Scotland, please visit GTCS - Qualified Outside Scotland for registration information.
The grade for this position may be reviewed annually and adjusted in line with the SNCT Handbook, effective from 1 August each year.
