The role
As a IT Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Ensuring the implementation of structured project management processes to ensure the effective delivery of business value from IT projects.
Day-to-day, you’ll assemble project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately.
1. Tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers
2. Maintaining a full set of documentation as required by the IT Project Management Process for each project
3. Coordinating communication with all areas of the business that impact the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed
4. Ensuring that through life support capabilities are key design considerations in all new business system solutions
5. Ensuring solution designs are compliant with the Babcock Standard Technology framework
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with occasional travel being required and some overnight stays away from home.
Essential experience of the IT Project Manager
6. Experienced IT professional, focussed on being a part of a cost effective and efficient project delivery team
7. Extensive demonstrable Project Management experience including: Awareness of the ALM (Applications Lifecycle Management) process and experience of managing both in-house application delivery teams as well as third parties
8. Microsoft Project experience (Project Server preferred) and experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously
9. Software application Project Management
10. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of implementing and delivering large projects in complex environments within budget and timescales using structured Project Methodology
Qualifications for the IT Project Manager
11. Certified Scrum Master, Agile certified or equivalent
12. Project Management qualification/ certification such as: PRINCE/APM or equivalent certification
