The Role
We are seeking an experienced Client Manager to join their Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-focused professional to manage a portfolio of established clients while supporting the growth of the practice through exceptional client service and business development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
* Manage and develop relationships with a designated portfolio of clients across various sectors
* Act as primary point of contact for day-to-day client queries and service coordination
* Conduct regular client meetings to review performance, identify needs, and discuss opportunities
* Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and service delivery
* Coordinate multi-disciplinary service delivery across different teams within the firm
Business Development & Growth
* Identify opportunities for additional services within existing client relationships
* Support Partners in client presentations and proposal development
* Participate in networking events and industry functions
* Contribute to the firm's business development strategy and market presence
* Build relationships with referral sources including legal professionals, financial advisors, and industry contacts
Service Coordination
* Oversee service delivery across accountancy, tax, audit, and advisory services
* Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements
* Manage client onboarding processes and service agreements
* Coordinate with specialists in areas such as corporate finance, financial planning, and legal services
* Monitor client profitability and fee recovery
* Supervise and mentor junior client service staff
* Contribute to training and development programmes
* Support workflow management and resource allocation
* Assist in recruitment and team building activities
Practice Management
* Contribute to the firm's strategic planning and operational improvements
* Maintain detailed client records and management information
* Support compliance with professional regulations and quality standards
* Assist with practice development initiatives and process improvements
Experience & Qualifications
* Professional Background: 5+ years in professional services, preferably accountancy or financial services
* Client Management: Proven track record managing client relationships in a professional services environment
* Business Development: Experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities
* Qualifications: Degree qualified; professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred but not essential
