Harris Academy Riverside is a highly oversubscribed, non-selective academy established in 2017 as part of the Harris Federation, serving the communities of Purfleet on Thames and West Thurrock. The academy has approximately 900 students in secondary and 200 in the sixth form.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Your role will include:
* Delivering a broad, relevant, and differentiated curriculum and supporting a specific subject area.
* Monitoring and supporting student progress as a teacher and form tutor.
* Fostering an engaging learning environment to help students reach their potential.
* Contributing to raising student attainment standards.
* Supporting the academy’s broader goals for personal and academic growth.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Operational and strategic planning, including lesson planning and resource development.
* Staff development and professional growth.
* Quality assurance through monitoring and evaluation.
* Managing information and tracking student progress.
* Communicating with students, parents, and stakeholders.
* Serving as a form tutor for a designated group of students.
* Ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree.
* Have secondary teaching experience, including in multi-ethnic urban schools and 11-18 settings.
* Understand effective teaching theories and practices.
* Value high expectations and equality of access.
* Be familiar with KS3 and KS4 National Curriculum requirements and assessment practices.
* Work well in teams and build positive relationships.
* Possess good ICT skills, including interactive whiteboards.
* Create a motivating, safe learning environment.
* Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies.
* Have strong written and spoken communication skills.
* Manage workload effectively and motivate students.
