Social Worker (Adult Social Care Safeguarding)
Contract: Permanent • Location: Hereford City • Hours: 37 per week • Salary: £36,363 to £40,777 + £3,000 Welcome Payment • Closing date: 18/06/2026
Responsibilities
* Conduct Care Act assessments and develop person‑centred support plans.
* Carry out mental capacity assessments, Section 42 enquiries and CHC/s117 work.
* Provide person‑centred assessment and care management for adults with physical, learning or mental health needs.
* Work with a strength‑based approach to empower individuals and champion independence.
* Collaborate effectively with external agencies and partner organisations to deliver holistic care.
* Engage in regular supervision and pursue professional development in accredited qualifications such as Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional.
Qualifications & experience
* Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and a qualifying degree.
* Current knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
* Track record of delivering effective, person‑centred assessment and care management.
* Drive to develop into a Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional preferred.
* Valid, clean driving licence.
