As part of our continued success, we are seeing a significant growth in our Civil Engineering/Development Infrastructure workload and are looking to expand this team.
Project growth is evolving both in Scotland and the north of England, across various sectors, including industrial & logistics, commercial offices, residential and educational campuses.
We are therefore looking to appoint a passionate, talented, and enthusiastic Senior Civil Engineer, to join our team in Glasgow, to work on a range of live projects. The successful candidates will ideally have 8+ years of engineering design experience.
Candidates may be chartered or working toward professional incorporation/chartership and will be considered based on their experience. Woolgar Hunter are an accredited training organisation under the ICE, with support available as required to achieve professional qualification.
Candidates will be technically proficient, with a solid educational background, and keen to play a key role as part of an enthusiastic and active team who are driven by quality design, with a focus on sustainable engineering, and a commitment to successful project delivery. Candidates should be proficient in roads, drainage, and earthworks design, ideally utilising CIVILS 3D and Infodrainage/Microdrainage software.
We provide the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types and scales, the majority of which are relatively local and likely to progress to construction stage, therefore allowing excellent experience. We work within a friendly studio environment that is both creative, passionate, practical, and design focused in its approach. The role will report to Directors/Project Directors and will work closely with a professional and experienced team of senior engineers, engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities
Support Director/Project Directors in the day-to-day technical delivery and management of projects.
Support Director/Project Directors in continuing to develop and improve the design processes and outputs including innovative approaches utilising current software
Undertake external works, roads and drainage design and modelling
Prepare and manage project documentation—including, but not limited to, models, drawings, construction specifications, key stage reports, statutory submission reports, design calculations, and project schedules
Represent the company in attendance at client and design team meetings
Mentor and guide junior staff to ensure project requirements are fulfilled to specifications
Be proactive in direct communication with clients and other project stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in civil engineering preferred
Relevant prior professional experience
Civil 3D experience is preferred; general familiarity with Autodesk software is desired
Drainage design experience ideally utilising Microdrainage/Infodrainage software
Working knowledge of current compliance legislation—with an eye on future legal changes
