Roz Savage MP is seeking a Digital and Communications Officer to manage their digital output and support clear, effective communication with constituents across multiple platforms. The successful candidate will be creative, organised, digitally confident and able to turn Roz’s parliamentary and local activities into engaging, accessible content from initial idea, through concept design, to filming, editing, and publishing. This is alongside writing and publishing press releases to local and national media. Key Responsibilities
* Create clear, engaging digital content across multiple platforms, including graphics and videos.
* Maintain and update the MP’s social media, ensuring a strong and responsive online presence.
* Handle public enquiries professionally across phone, email, social media, and in person, following data protection requirements.
* Promote local activities such as surgeries and community updates.
* Track the effectiveness of communications and adjust strategies accordingly.
* Draft press releases, media briefings, newsletters, and monitor relevant media coverage.
* Provide general communications support to help advance the MP’s priorities.
* Attend local events and activities with Roz to capture photos, footage, and quotes from constituents.
* Be available for occasional out-of-hours or travel commitments, with work across both Cirencester and Westminster offices.
Essential Skills
* Awareness of current affairs
* Sensitivity when handling controversial issues, and willingness to seek guidance when necessary
* Experience in digital communications, including producing and editing graphics and video content
* Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, X, and Bluesky
* Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills and an ability to cater to different audiences
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including local, regional and national journalists
* Driving licence
Desirable Skills
* Work experience in Parliament, local government, or political / advocacy settings
* Experience in a communications role
