As a Vacuum Pump Project Engineer, your mission is to effectively handle all aspects of the quoting, bid clarification, order intake, production (using subcontract manufacture), expediting, and delivery (using subcontract packer/freight forwarder), of spare parts for non-standard UK built liquid ring pumps and other non-standard pump spares. You will report to the Engineering Support Manager.
You will
1. Analysis of customer requirement and identification of the correct equipment item
2. Tender preparation through SAP
3. Cost estimating and setting of selling price
4. Tender clarification with customer
5. Review of customers technical specifications to establish pump construction requirements
6. Preparation of BOM from data sheet and clarification of data sheet with Technical as necessary
7. Provide guidance and technical expertise to subcontract pump builder throughout manufacturing process
8. Discuss and where appropriate, agree concession requests from the subcontract pump builder
9. Create and maintain build procedures for non-standard liquid ring pumps
10. Remote support for commissioning & service for pump service & rework
To succeed, you will need
Education Level:
11. HND level in relevant engineering discipline or
12. Qualified time served and experienced fitter
13. Effective working knowledge of MS office software
Relevant Previous Experience:
14. Extensive fitting and pump build/dis-assembly experience
15. Thorough knowledge of the processes used to manufacture liquid ring pump components
16. Thorough knowledge of materials options, mechanical seal options and other construction options relevant to Edwards special materials, built to order liquid ring pumps and the ability to use this knowledge to meet customer requirements
17. Experience of liquid ring pump testing, installation and operation
18. Full UK driving license
