Vision for Education are recruiting an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream primary school in Thornbury.
This opportunity is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with strong KS2 experience who is confident supporting pupils across Years 3–6. As a Primary TA, you will play a key role in helping pupils stay engaged, make progress, and feel supported throughout their learning journey.
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
1. Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2
2. Delivering small group interventions in core subjects such as English and Maths
3. Providing targeted 1:1 support where required
4. Assisting with SATs preparation and booster sessions
5. Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with SEND
6. Managing low-level behaviour confidently and positively
7. Preparing classroom resources and supporting daily routines
8. Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive learning attitudes

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident and proactive Primary Teaching Assistant who:
9. Has recent experience supporting within KS2 in a mainstream primary school
10. Has a good understanding of the KS2 curriculum
11. Is confident delivering small group interventions
12. Can support pupils of mixed abilities
13. Has strong behaviour management skills
14. Is reliable, adaptable, and professional
15. Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
