Responsibilities of the Specialist Optometrist Glaucoma: Leading glaucoma clinics under the direction of our Lead Glaucoma Consultant Ophthalmologist. Supporting the prescribing of glaucoma medications where needed. Carrying our virtual reviews of patients with glaucoma, synchronous and asynchronous. Supporting our hospitals with clinical queries about patients under our care who have glaucoma or suspected of having glaucoma. Supporting the Principal Optometrist to identify training needs and matters for clinical governance. Supporting hospital optometrists with development of their glaucoma skills Occasional support of clinical audit. Occasional support for development and delivery of CPD material, for internal and external audiences. Assisting other senior optometrist with complaints/investigations. Active involvement in assisting developing members of the team with occasional associated travel outside the region (additional expenses paid).
