Overview
On behalf of our valued client within the specialist engineering sector, we are inviting applications for the role of Skilled Finishing Operative to work as an integral part of a small close-knit team in a quality focused environment of excellence. Day to day duties will include:
Key Responsibilities
* Removing defects from castings
* Removal of metal using hand tools i.e. grinders, burrs, abrasive belts
* Dress castings back to the correct tolerance and profile
* Prepare castings ready for the welding process with due attention given to results from NDT and CMM investigations.
* Conduct weld mapping activities
* Use measurement tools i.e. vernier, callipers, micrometres, depth gauges.
* De-burring
* Fettling & finishing
* Grinding
* Removal of residual ceramic mould materials
* Working to tight tolerances and required quality procedures at all times to maintain and drive excellence.
Key Requirements
* Be dexterous.
* Possess a willingness to work overtime as required.
* Positive and eager attitude towards work, learning and development.
* Have basic level mathematics skills.
* Safely operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
