Prospero Teaching are looking to recruit an excellent Cover Supervisor to work within a fantastic secondary school in the Southport area!
The strongest applicant will have confidence in Mathematics, English and a subject of their choice whilst also working well with children.
Cover Supervisor
* Location – Southport- PR9
* Start date – June 2025
* Contract type – Temporary
* Full time/part time – Full time
* Pay: Paid to Scale
* Hours – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervising Classes: Overseeing students during lessons when teachers are unavailable, ensuring they stay on task and maintain good behaviour.
* Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students stay on task.
* Delivering Pre-Set Work: Supervising students as they complete work left by the teacher. Ensure that the planned lessons are carried out.
* Monitoring Progress: Ensuring students complete their assigned tasks and offering basic guidance or support when required.
* Administrative Duties: Completing records of attendance, reporting any incidents, and liaising with school staff.
* Supporting School Activities: Assisting with duties outside the classroom, such as lunch supervision or extra-curricular activities.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent (Desirable)
* Previous experience working with young people.
* Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
* Provide two professional references.
