Dietetic Service Lead for Acute Nutrition Support (Fixed Term/Secondment to 30.10.2026 to cover maternity leave). If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee applying as a secondment, agreement from your current manager is required prior to application.

You will join the first Health Board in Wales to lead Malnutrition strategy and work with an award-winning team recognised by BAPEN for two years running as top Nutritional screeners.

You will join a friendly and supportive team as a Service Lead for Acute Nutrition Support to provide maternity cover for 12 months. You will work closely with acute Dietetic leads, CNS nutrition nurses, professional practice nurses and the Malnutrition strategic lead to ensure Malnutrition remains a key priority across acute pathways Health Board wide.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of Clinical Lead Dietitians working in Acute Nutrition Support across the Health Board.
* Lead on recruitment, development plans and workforce opportunities.
* Collaborate with Consultants, senior Nurses, pharmacy colleagues and procurement to embed acute nutrition support safely in practice.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate the development of Nutrition Support teams Health Board wide to optimise patient care and safety in line with NICE Clinical Guideline 32 (2007).
* Set the direction for Acute Nutrition Support and pro-actively support clinical leads with performance reporting.
* Promote workforce wellbeing and drive workforce opportunities for professional development using the pillars of professional practice.
* Highlight the work of acute Dietetics and lead innovation, transformation and quality improvement.
* Work with the clinical lead for Acute Nutrition Support (critical care) and share a caseload of complex patients on the 18-bed critical care unit.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience as a Dietetic lead in Acute Nutrition Support or a Clinical lead ready for progression.
* Excellent communication and team-working skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to embed practice safely.
* Knowledge and experience of acute nutrition support and leading quality improvement initiatives.
* Ability to develop, implement and evaluate service development and provide performance reporting.
