About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and customer‑focused Sport and Health Assistant to join our team at the University Sports Centre. In this role, you will help deliver a high‑quality service to students, staff and members of the public, ensuring a welcoming, safe and well‑maintained environment.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the facility, contribute to a positive customer experience, and help ensure activities and events run smoothly. This is a hands‑on role that combines customer service, operational support and facility maintenance, making it ideal for someone with a passion for sport, health and wellbeing.
Flexibility is key, as you may be required to work across different locations and occasionally outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
Main Responsibilities
* Support the day‑to‑day operation of sports activities and events, including setting up and dismantling equipment safely and efficiently.
* Deliver excellent customer service by providing reception cover, managing bookings and processing payments through the computerised system.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, handling enquiries and escalating any issues or complaints when necessary.
* Carry out routine inspections of equipment and facilities, reporting faults and ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times.
* Undertake cleaning duties to keep the sports centre safe, presentable and ready for use.
* Respond to accidents or incidents as a trained first aider, ensuring appropriate action is taken and all required documentation is completed.
