Commercial Manager

Contract Type: Inside IR35, Hybrid (2-3 days per week in Brighton)
Summary
As a Commercial Manager within the water sector, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering projects alongside a collaborative team. Your responsibilities will include liaising with external contractors and consultants, supporting the NEC Project Manager with post-contract administration, and providing commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle. You will ensure projects are delivered within cost, time, and quality standards, supporting suppliers with accurate cost and financial forecasts, and assisting with procurement and contract close-out for projects ranging from £100k to £15m. The role requires strong technical knowledge of construction processes and commercial management within a consultancy environment, with the ability to manage junior staff and influence stakeholders effectively. Due to client requirements, regular travel to Chichester (2-3 times per week) is necessary.
Skills
In-depth technical knowledge of construction processes and commercial management
Strong NEC contract experience (pre and post contract)
Ability to support and manage junior staff on projects between £100k and £15m
Excellent self-management and prioritisation skills under pressure
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including stakeholder influence
Commercial support and guidance through all project gateways
Contract administration and change assessment
Procurement support and final account close-out
Participation in risk and value management meetings
Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
