Maintenance Assistant – Housing & Supported Living Services Part time (21 hours) Temporary until end March 2026 £14.66 PAYE Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping homes safe, welcoming, and well-maintained? We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join a friendly and dedicated Housing Services team, helping to ensure residents live in safe, comfortable environments across supported and older persons’ accommodation. This is a varied role where no two days are the same – from carrying out health and safety checks and fire alarm testing, to liaising with contractors, supporting residents, and maintaining high service standards. What you’ll be doing * Carrying out regular Health & Safety inspections in communal areas, gardens, and properties. * Reporting and tracking repairs and maintenance issues, ensuring works are completed on time. * Conducting fire safety checks, evacuation drills, and recording compliance actions. * Monitoring the quality of cleaning, gardening, and estate services, raising any performance issues. * Assisting with void property management – from inspecting and preparing empty homes to coordinating re-lets. * Supporting residents and liaising with support providers to ensure everyone feels safe and cared for. * Maintaining accurate records and contributing to performance reporting. About you We’re looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and has a real passion for delivering excellent customer service. You’ll be approachable and organised, with good attention to detail and the confidence to communicate with residents, contractors, and colleagues alike. Essential skills & experience: * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities. * Administrative experience and confident IT skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team. * Full driving licence.
