About the Role

We are excited to announce an opening for an RD&A Technologist to join our Taste Fermentation RD&A team in Menstrie, Scotland.

In this role, you will support R&D projects aimed at developing new products and enhancing current production processes. Your tasks will include:

- Performing bench-scale reactions and fermentations
- Testing newly developed concepts using analytical instruments
- Implementing innovative methods and processes


Key Responsibilities

* Process and report experimental results, playing a key role in communicating with project stakeholders.
* Actively participate in project meetings and reviews, providing critical feedback and technology insights.
* Help maintain the smooth operation of the lab, ensuring hygiene, consumables, and procedures are up to standard.
* Support administrative tasks related to RD&A activities.
* Contribute innovative ideas for new product development and improvements in existing processes.
* Execute experiments robustly to advance technical knowledge and support decision-making.
* Prepare technical reports to ensure timely R&D project delivery and documentation for technology transfers.
* Manage laboratory maintenance, ensuring facilities and equipment are fit-for-purpose.


Qualifications and Skills

* BSc in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
* Experience in microbial fermentation, whether in industrial or academic settings.
* Familiarity with biological and analytical techniques (e.g., biochemical assays, HPLC).
* Competence in general microbiology laboratory practices and aseptic techniques.
* Ability to write technical documents such as research reports and SOPs; proficiency in Excel or other data processing software is highly desirable.
* Experience with pilot-scale facilities or in a production environment is a plus.
* Experience in scaling-up and transferring new technologies to manufacturing is advantageous.
* A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in multi-cultural environments.
