Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Blyth on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All Subject specialisms will be considered.
About the Role:
1. The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress. All Subject specialisms will be considered.
2. Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour, particularly SEMH.
3. Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
4. Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
5. Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
6. Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
7. Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience
About the School:
8. The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Blyth.
9. The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism
Pay, Hours and Contract:
10. Pay – Between £130-180 per day
11. Hours –
12. Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
13. Start Date – ASAP.
14. Location – Blyth
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
15. An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
16. QTS and Science Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
17. Strong Behaviour Management skills
18. Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
19. Strong KS3-KS5 Science Subject Knowledge
20. Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
21. A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
22. Experience of Science Teaching within the UK
23. A genuine passion for Teaching
24. Strong organisation and communication skills
