Senior Project Controls Engineer - Risk - Defence

The Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre provides support for projects of varying complexity and size, offering services in Programme and Project Management, Project Planning, Cost Engineering, Risk Management, and Commercial Disciplines. We support the full project lifecycle, from pre-contract to post-contract, managing infrastructure projects valued from hundreds of thousands of pounds to over £200M.
Due to increasing client demands, we are expanding our team and seeking talented individuals to support our Defence client portfolio and develop their careers on complex and challenging projects.
Important: Due to the sensitive nature of these projects, applicants must be SOLE UK Nationals capable of obtaining and maintaining UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). See Security Clearance Section.

Our southwest region’s infrastructure team has strong positions across multiple sectors, including Defence. Our staff have opportunities to work across various sectors, gaining broad experience on major projects and programmes.
We are looking for candidates with proven experience in risk delivery roles within project/programme environments, preferably within Defence. Responsibilities include implementing integrated risk management processes, facilitating threat and opportunity identification, maintaining visibility of risk triggers, using risk data for planning, and supporting quantitative risk assessments.
The role requires competence with tools such as PRA, @risk, Safran, or web-based database tools like ARM, Predict, or Power-BI.
* Degree in a relevant technical or management field or equivalent qualifications and experience in risk delivery.
* Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, IRM, PMI).
* Understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment, threat mitigation, and opportunity exploitation.
* Knowledge of integrated risk management processes on large programmes.
* Awareness of governance and policy guidance, including IR standards.
