We are currently recruiting for a Substance Misuse Nurse based at Clouds House, Wiltshire.
Here at Forward Trust, Clouds House is one of Forward's residential substance misuse treatment centres in East Knoyle, Wiltshire.
Clouds House delivers a structured interpersonal and 12 Step treatment programme, designed to help those with substance and behavioural addiction maintain abstinence and develop long-term sustainable recovery.
Over the last 40 years, Clouds House has helped over 12,000 clients work towards a life in recovery and fostered a growing recovery culture through our alumni. Our ambition is to significantly increase recovery capital, offering treatment to as many clients as possible, regardless of means.

About The Role
The role involves providing and supervising high standards of nursing care for the treatment and support of substance dependency. You will deliver care in accordance with up-to-date evidence-based practice, national guidelines, and Forward Trust policies.
The main focus is to work confidentially as an autonomous practitioner in the medical centre and as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering and monitoring high standards of substance misuse interventions. Maintain the treatment model, its structure, and ethos in daily practice. Be a proactive team member.
Within a health improvement framework, you will provide holistic assessments, brief interventions, monitor medical detoxifications and prescribed medications, and conduct crisis interventions, ensuring the physical and psychological health and wellbeing of clients, facilitating behaviour change towards healthier lifestyles. Triage for medical assessment by ANP, GP, or psychiatrist.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide interventions and support for drug and alcohol users with complex needs as part of a 12 Step recovery programme, including triage, assessment, administration of controlled drugs and other medications, monitoring detoxifications, crisis intervention, and support.
* Liaise with other professionals and team members in planning and delivering nursing care.
* Promote clients' health and wellbeing, maintaining a safe, caring, and therapeutic environment that minimises risk.
* Ensure adherence to Forward policies and procedures related to service provision.
* Conduct initial health needs assessments on admission, including mental health and substance use history.
* Develop, implement, and review care plans to meet individual needs, including discharge planning and liaising with other agencies as appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
* A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Nursing: RGN, RMN, or RNLD, with current UK registration. A Diploma/Degree in Substance Misuse or equivalent is advantageous (or willingness to undertake).
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, with sound clinical knowledge, good time management and organisational skills, assessment skills, including risk assessments, and the ability to work within a recovery model (12 Step).
