Prospero Teaching is working closely with a welcoming primary school based in Waterlooville, who are looking to appoint a Level 1 or 2 Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a class-based role in Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4).
About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day – helping them feel confident, safe, and ready to learn.
What You'll Do Each Day
* Provide one-to-one support to help pupils with learning and social skills
* Encourage positive behaviour and help children build friendships
* Support emotional wellbeing and help remove barriers to learning
* Work flexibly across different classes and follow a daily timetable
* Use initiative to ensure all learners achieve the best outcomes
Who We're Looking For
* Someone patient, caring, and a strong team player
* GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (grade C or level 4)
* Experience is helpful but not essential—training and support will be provided
* Calm and positive approach to supporting children with a range of needs
* Empathetic understanding of behaviour and emotional development
* Willingness to undergo training, including support for children with medical needs
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
Important Details
* Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
* Term-Time Only: 39 weeks per year
* Starting Pay: 13.96 per hour
* Location: Prospero's client primary school based in Waterlooville
* Contract Type: Ongoing position (not fixed term)
