My client, a leading waste management and recycling centre in Knaresborough, is looking for a Crane Operator operative. NO EXPERIENCE is required.

Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary! As part of the team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, control, and routine maintenance of overhead cranes.
Key Details:
* This position involves shift work, including both day and night shifts, with 12-hour shifts.
* Favourable shift pattern – 35 days on, 14 days off, 21 days off – more information available upon request.
* The initial schedule is days Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, from 08:00 to 16:00, with a half-hour break. Once deemed competent, shifts will be 06:45 - 19:00 on days, and 18:45 - 07:00 on nights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily safety checks of machinery to ensure optimal performance.
* Set up and operate cranes to move materials safely around the site.
* Coordinate with unit operators to maintain plant efficiency.
* Perform minor repairs and report significant issues to the Shift Team Leader.
* Keep detailed records of materials moved for shift handovers.
* Conduct regular equipment inspections in line with safety protocols.
* Assist maintenance and engineering teams with crane functionality.
* Monitor crane stability and load weights consistently.
Size and Scope:
* Operate overhead cranes primarily from a control room cab with an overview of the waste bunker.
* Control cranes remotely during daily checks and other duties.
* Maintain good housekeeping in crane areas.
