The school supports pupils aged 5–11 with complex learning needs, autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other SEN. Many pupils have EHCPs, while others are supported at SEN Support level. The school’s SEN provision is designed to provide individualised support within a mainstream setting, allowing pupils to access core subjects while receiving tailored interventions for social, emotional, communication, and academic development. The school adopts a holistic approach, focusing not only on academic achievement but also on emotional wellbeing, resilience, and social skills. Staff collaborate closely with families, therapists, and external agencies to ensure continuity of support and positive outcomes for all pupils. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils both in-class and in small group settings, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence in their learning abilities. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement EHCP targets, behaviour support plans, and personalised learning strategies. You will also support pupils during unstructured times, including break, lunchtime, and transitions, promoting positive interactions and helping children regulate emotions. Your role will include observation, recording, and reporting on pupil progress.
