The Role
As a proactive Health & Safety Advisor you will have the opportunity to build a positive safety culture across a range of schemes. You will be expected to provide practical guidance and support to drive safety culture, ensure our teams are compliant with health and safety legislation and meet client KPI’s and standards.
As Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health and safety across our projects and wider company locations. Working closely with the Head of Safety and Site Teams, you will provide guidance, coaching, and practical solutions to drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
* Support the delivery of health and safety across civils projects.
* Conduct regular site inspections, providing clear and actionable feedback.
* Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions to teams and subcontractors.
* Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventative measures.
* Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safe working practices.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
* Drive engagement and foster a culture of accountability and ownership for safety.

The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a proactive, adaptable and resilient Safety Advisor who can build great relationships on-site. You’ll be someone who enjoys being hands-on, making a real difference, and helping create a positive safety culture.
Desirable Requirements
* NEBOSH qualification (or working towards).
* Understanding key requirements of various health and safety regulations and guidance such as HSG47 working around underground services, RIDDOR, COSHH, Working at Height and Confined Spaces.
* Ability to engage with site teams and sub-contractors to promote a positive safety culture
* Experience in civil engineering and construction projects.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Hands-on, practical approach with the ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
