Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join our FINEX business unit. You will be responsible for delivering technical and operational excellence to the Practice teams, ensuring that all outcomes support the overall strategic objectives of the business unit and promote effective, efficient, proactive, and embedded operational practices.
The Role :
Operations:
1. Contribute to defining accurate, CEM-compliant documentation and manage template requirements.
2. Collate current data on all relevant tax issues, disseminate to the BU, train staff, and update as necessary.
3. Coordinate with the Central Facilities Team on use, renewal, training, and recording of facilities.
4. Brief on all technical issues, agree on Terms of Reference, and provide technical news updates.
5. Coordinate and brief on market security and solvency issues.
6. Work with Client Advocates and Placement Specialists to meet client needs and resolve technical issues promptly.
7. Ensure practices operate according to group, global, and prescribed standards.
8. Ensure staff are trained on systems, procedures, and policies; develop and conduct training as needed.
9. Liaise with operational support groups to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and excellence.
10. Support and collaborate with the A&S function to meet annual targets and manage credit control matters.
11. Channel data or IT system strategies through governance bodies to ensure robustness.
12. Promote continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
13. Maintain collaborative relationships across locations, including Mumbai.
14. Deliver training to Placement Operation Specialists and provide performance feedback.
15. Assist with resolving complex queries.
16. Use reporting metrics to develop and maintain operational excellence.
17. Support operational governance and decision-making processes.
18. Build and manage relationships internally and externally, sharing best practices.
19. Perform other duties as appropriate for the role.
20. Maintain relevant experience and qualifications.
21. Support the Operations and Technical Directors in resource, knowledge, and control management.
22. Assist in training on compliance policies and ensure refresher training is completed.
23. Maintain proactive relationships with BU Compliance Officers and Group Compliance.
24. Monitor and manage controls such as self-assessments and internal audits.
Conduct Risk Responsibilities:
1. Manage regulatory issues, disseminate information, and ensure training.
2. Ensure colleagues are trained and competent to uphold client interests and market integrity.
3. Promote operational efficiencies and technical excellence.
Strategy:
Support the delivery of Business Unit strategic plans.
Growth:
Develop business opportunities through operational excellence, enhance reputation, and ensure accurate data for analysis.
Financial:
Improve margins through operational quality and efficiency, ensure compliance with revenue policies.
Qualifications
* Degree level education, preferably with professional qualifications like ACII.
* Accreditation in Lean or similar process improvement methodologies is desirable.
* Significant experience in the insurance broking sector.
* Proven track record of delivering excellent client service through operational functions.
* Experience working with support functions like Sales, HR, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal.
* Ability to work in high-pressure, results-oriented environments and manage change.
* Experience implementing initiatives for operational excellence.
* Knowledge of managing logistical functions and FCA regulations.
