Recovery Driver - Birmingham
The AA is looking for a Roadside Recovery Driver to work at our Birmingham depot (DY4 7BS). As a key member of our team, you will load broken vehicles onto our recovery trucks and transport them to garages, ensuring customers’ vehicles are safely returned to the road.

Salary and Benefits
* Guaranteed minimum £33,862 for a CE (HGV 1) licence or £30,490 for a C (HGV 2) licence
* On‑target earnings £41,000 (CE licence) or £35,000 (C licence)
* Standard shift: 9 hours 45 minutes with a 45‑minute break; up to 12‑hour shifts possible

Responsibilities
* Communicate professionally with customers, reassuring them and ensuring their needs are met.
* Drive independently to different locations in all weather conditions, working evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
* Load and secure vehicles onto the recovery truck, and transport them safely to the required garage or repair facility.
* Use technical skills to assess and solve vehicle issues on the roadside.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and vehicle information.
* Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications
* Resident within 25 miles of the depot (postcode DY4 7BS).
* Full Category C (HGV 2) licence; CE (HGV 1) licence is an advantage.
* Driver CPC qualification and digital driver’s/tachograph card.
* Experience with a recovery or breakdown vehicle is desirable but not mandatory.
* Capability to work shift patterns, including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
* Good communication skills and a solution‑oriented approach.
