Offer description

We’re currently recruiting for an Employment Adviser to join our team. You will provide advice, support and coaching to participants to help them overcome barriers to employment and achieve realistic job goals.

You will manage a caseload of participants, guide their employment journey, and build strong positive relationships with them. The role requires excellent customer service skills, a target‑driven mindset and an ability to work independently under pressure.

Competitive salary range: £26,500 to £29,545 per annum (dependent on experience).

Location: Office‑based role in Kidderminster.

Hours: 37 hours a week – Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Contract: 12 months maternity cover.

Closing date: 08 May 2026.


Key Responsibilities

* Meet and exceed personal performance targets (Key Performance Indicators).
* Progressively manage a caseload of referred customers, applying appropriate strategies to help them overcome employment barriers.
* Deliver a positive experience to new customers and ensure engagement with the programme.
* Achieve the required Customer Service Standards.
* Facilitate assessments to fully understand customers’ circumstances, ambitions and goals.
* Provide advice and guidance on self‑employment basics and signpost customers to internal specialists.
* Co‑produce tailored Action Plans featuring SMART targets for timely progression.
* Offer job‑search support and interview preparation to match customers to suitable positions.
* Provide training and guidance to help customers master digital technologies.
* Ensure evidence requirements are met to verify job starts.
* Understand the local labour market to source suitable opportunities.
* Undertake direct marketing to employers using digital media.
* Market specific customers to employers.
* Identify employer recruitment needs and conduct tailored prescreens and group assessments.
* Build relationships with key stakeholders to maximise job opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records in both hard copy and system.
* Develop knowledge of local specialist signposting services and apply it to caseload management.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance customer service.
* Act as an employee owner, considering the best interests of the company and colleagues.
* Champion best practice and ensure adherence.
* Adapt to flexible work arrangements, including travel and overnight stays as needed.
* Accountable for own professional development and training.
* Handle personal data according to the organisation’s data protection policy.
* Promote Prevent and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
* Adhere to company policies: safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, quality, health and safety, IT.
* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post.


Skills and Experience

* Good working knowledge of the local labour market in the specified area.
* Basic knowledge of self‑employment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office programmes.
* Experience in a target‑driven environment.
* Experience delivering services that meet contractual and quality standards.
* Knowledge of the employability and recruitment industries.
* Experience providing information, advice & guidance to people.
* Full driving licence.
