Contract Type: PermanentLocation: Eastleigh / Southampton / New ForestHours: Full-time – 37.5 hours, including regular evening shifts. Part-time and term time also considered. Regular evening and occasional weekend working will be required.Reports to: Team Leader/Head of ServiceStarting Salary: £24,570 - £26,325This role requires a Youth Worker who is compassionate, enthusiastic and is committed to making a difference to the lives of children andyoung people. You will need to be flexible, creative, caring and have experience of working with children and young people in a variety of settings to offer high quality, youth-led activities. There will be opportunities to work across our services and we are particularly looking for a Youth Worker who is passionate about our Targeted Support and Learning & Progression services
Your role will be to support, develop and engage children and young people to develop their social and emotional capabilities, resilience and emotional wellbeing, improve their engagement with learning and to stay safe.You will plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality programmes which work towards specific targets that meet young people’s personal development needs and empower them. This is likely to include providing specific opportunities to hear youth voices, key work andsupporting to achieve accreditations, such as Laser Awards.Targeted & Progression Youth Work is delivered on a one-to-one basis or in focus groups, taking place in a range of locations where young people feel comfortable; including community and school venues.
