Job Title: Team Leader - Janitor
Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard
Hourly Rate: $17.91/hr
Position Overview
The Team Leader - Janitor is responsible for planning, assigning, and overseeing daily work assignments for direct laborers in accordance with contract requirements. This role involves issuing supplies and equipment, inspecting work for quality, ensuring safety standards are met, and maintaining equipment used for floor maintenance. The individual must demonstrate initiative, adaptability, reliability, flexibility, and a positive team attitude.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise and evaluate direct reports, including submitting annual performance appraisals.
2. Ensure compliance with company custodial SOPs and provide related training.
3. Coordinate with the Rehabilitation Department to follow program plans.
4. Manage supply and material orders, including daily issuance and control.
5. Complete Daily Work Reports to communicate with project staff and government representatives.
6. Lead daily operations, fostering teamwork and professionalism.
7. Perform quality control inspections and document results.
8. Report inspection findings and corrective actions electronically.
9. Maintain safety standards and proper use of materials and equipment.
10. Address facility or customer complaints appropriately.
11. Transport staff, supplies, and equipment as needed.
12. Operate and perform preventive maintenance on floor care equipment.
13. Complete required training programs.
14. Perform other duties as assigned or outlined in the Statement of Work.
