As part of Gaddum's Talking Therapies service, the PWP Supervisor will oversee the Step 2service within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (HMR). This role will provide clinical case management and skills supervision toboth qualified and trainee PWPs. The role combines supervisory and service leadership witha small clinical caseload and focuses on ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care andstrong support for staff wellbeing and professional development.

Our PWPs will be completing training positions, including full participation in an accredited PGCert or equivalent training in Low Intensity Interventions at oneof our partner universities, e.g. University of Manchester, UCLan, or LJMU.


Main duties of the job

The PWP Supervisor will -

- Lead on service development, training, and quality improvement

- Provide high-quality clinical and case management supervision to PWPs

- Support PWPs with clinical risk, complex presentations, and professional development

- Regularly assess and sign off all supervisees clinical competency for training andongoing registration requirements

- Maintain a small caseload, delivering low-intensity interventions where needed

- Liaise with educational providers of the training courses to meet the joint learningagreement

Job responsibilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Practice -

- Conduct assessments and deliver low-intensity CBT-based interventions whenneeded

- Respond to clinical risk and manage urgent presentations, acting as a SafeguardingOfficer for the service

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice in line with NICE guidance

- Contribute to the overall caseload capacity of the service in times of high demand

Quality Assurance and Service Improvement -

- Oversee outcome measures, recovery rates, and KPIs for the service, ensuring theyare consistently met and accurately recorded

- Participate in clinical audits, data monitoring, and service evaluation

- Support innovation and continuous improvement within the service

- Complete quarterly reporting as required by the service commissioner

Collaboration and Development

- Work collaboratively with Step 3 clinicians, GPs, VCSE partners, and universityproviders

- Contribute to outreach and promotion of the service across HMR

- Facilitate team learning, reflective practice, and training delivery

- Work alongside commissioners from the Big Life Group to achieve shared goals

Academic and Supervision -

- Provide clinical and case management supervision to the team of PWPs

- Monitor PWP trainees progress against learning objectives

- Lead PWPs in reflective practice sessions

- Support PWPs to attend and complete all training modules, assignments, and practicalcomponents of the university training programme

- Support PWPs to apply academic learning to clinical practice

Other Duties and Responsibilities -

- Uphold Gaddums values and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

- Lead team meetings, reflective practice sessions, and organisational events

- Adhere to organisational policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, dataprotection, and professional boundaries

- Undertake additional tasks relevant to the role as requested by the service lead or clinicalsupervisor

- Participate in regular supervision, annual appraisal, and continuous professionaldevelopment.

All staff are expected to work within all Gaddum policies and procedures. This role is subjectto an enhanced DBS check.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Qualification from PWP Training Course - PGCert or Level 3 Undergraduate course
* Registered Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with BABCP or BPS
* PWP Supervisor training completed

* Ability to travel across Heywood Middleton and Rochdale
* Commitment to professional development and ongoing learning

* Strong understanding of low-intensity interventions
* Ability to provide highquality clinical supervision
* Excellent communication risk management and report writing skills
* Ability to manage own time and support others with workload
* Computer literacy including ability to use data systems and remote tools
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality
* Demonstrates empathy compassion and non-judgmental attitude
* Commitment to EDI and anti-oppressive practice
* Self-reflective and open to learning
* Positive attitude and ability to remain resilient under pressure
* Knowledge of Heywood Middleton and Rochdale local context
* Familiarity with clinical supervision models


Experience

* Experience of providing supervision to PWPs
* Working to IAPT targets and outcomes
* Experience of using client databases or electronic records
* Experience working across diverse settings - 1:1, group and digital
* Experience working in a VCSE or community-based setting
* Experience with outreach or access-focused work
