Salary: £14.63 per hour
Hours: 45 hours per week, 06:45am to 16:45pm

As a Plant Operator at FCC Environment, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our High Heavens Waste Transfer Station. You will manage waste delivery stockpiles, load waste materials into articulated bulking vehicles, and carry out mobile plant activities—primarily operating a wheeled loading shovel. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
•Operating a loading shovel in line with operator best practice and company procedures
•Completing daily start-up inspections of mobile plant and reporting defects
•Keeping mobile plant clean and performing light maintenance (greasing, clearing debris)
•Maintaining good housekeeping within the work area
•Enforcing traffic management and health & safety standards
•Ensuring customer vehicles are tipped efficiently and loading vehicles for onward waste transportation
•Rotating waste to comply with storage limitations
•Liaising with site operatives and supervisors to ensure efficient waste movement
•Monitoring fuel usage and reporting when resources are low
•Assisting with other machine operator and weighbridge duties as needed
•Performing any other duties necessary to meet business needs
What are we looking for?
•Qualified machine operator with experience in operating a loading shovel (current license desirable)
•Satisfactory completion of relevant Competency Management System modules and all required training
•Keen to work as part of a team and willing to help with all site duties
•Hardworking, health and safety minded, and willing to learn
•Excellent timekeeping and attendance is essential
