Sound Engineer
Are you technically minded?
Volunteer Sound Engineers help by carrying out the following tasks:-
1) Operating and controlling recording equipment to produce a 60 minute audio cassette tape or memory stick as directed by our Talking Newspaper Producer.
2) Reproducing approximately 350 copies from the master tape using fast recording machines.
Recording takes place every other Tuesday evening.
You will be part of a team of volunteers and will carry out your tasks on a rota basis.
Training on operating the equipment will be given by existing volunteers.
Skills
An ability to learn how to operate the recording equipment, maintain sound levels, patch in when mistakes are made, introduce jingles etc. If you have experience in this already, it will be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
An interest in helping people with visual impairments.
