Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom.

About the Practice:
Our practice is fully equipped with a cosy reception area, three consultation rooms, separate dog and cat wards, a prep and dental area with X‑ray, a fully equipped operating theatre, dedicated X‑ray room, ultrasound, in‑house laboratory and all the tools required for modern veterinary medicine. We support a team of 4 vets, 4 nurses, reception staff and RVN and we collaborate with other IVC practices.
Role Overview:
This role involves delivering a wide range of clinical services to dogs and cats, including routine procedures such as spays, castrates and lump removals, orthopaedic and advanced soft‑tissue surgeries, and exotic care for reptiles, rabbits and small furries. You will work within a collaborative team and have the freedom to innovate and expand services.
Responsibilities:
 * Perform routine and elective veterinary surgeries.
 * Provide diagnostic and treatment care for small animal patients.
 * Conduct orthopaedic and soft‑tissue procedures.
 * Manage exotic animal cases.
 * Participate in team meetings, case reviews and share clinical best practices.
 * Support trainee vets and nursing staff as needed.
 * Assist in laboratory and imaging functions.
 * Maintain compliance with veterinary health regulations and IVD standards.
 * Contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
 * Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (DVSM, CVS, or equivalent).
 * Good UK veterinary licence or acting licence.
 * Experience in small animal surgery ideal.
 * Desire to develop orthopaedic skills and hold or pursue orthopaedic certification.
 * Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
 * Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Working Hours & Flexibility:
 * 4 or 5 day working pattern, shift times vary from 8:00‑11:30 am to 7:00 pm.
 * No out‑of‑hours working.
 * Weekend rota 1 in 3 working Saturdays (8 am‑12 pm); weekend swaps possible.
