Our Client are a leading Residential Developer covering traditional residential new build projects across Kent and Surrey.
They are currently looking to hire an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor who is able to support their current Senior Surveyor on new build developments, the properties will vary between 2-4 bedroom houses and the scheme is running until 2028 with other potential phases still under discussion.
Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget, on time, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work valuations for projects
* Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
* Monitor project progress and report on costs and budget deviations
* Evaluate and manage variations and change orders
* Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
* Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
* Manage project risk and ensure compliance with relevant legal and quality standards
* Provide advice on contractual claims
* Liaise with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Minimum [insert number] years of experience in a similar role
* Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
* Proficient in cost estimation and contract administration
* Familiar with standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC)
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
* Strong organizational and time-management abilities
* Proficient in MS Office and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).
* Must have a UK driving licence and vehicle due to the location of the sites.
