Procurement Operational Service Driver/Stores Person – South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The role is part of a team that provides a service Trust-wide, including the transport of patients and staff, replenishment of medical consumable goods to all areas of the Trust (including community and rural departments), transferring beds/mattresses, furniture and medical devices between areas, and delivering equipment to patients' homes. The successful applicant will also fulfil related tasks as required by the Trust.
The role involves comprehensive administration tasks related to departmental needs, including filing, reception duties, use of Microsoft packages, and handling telephone enquiries.
Main duties of the job
* Assist with the operational movement of staff and patients, manage stock (NHS Supply Chain) procurement services, and participate in providing an efficient procurement service in accordance with the Trust Procurement Strategy and Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).
* Carry out administration tasks related to departmental needs, including filing, reception duties, use of Microsoft packages, and dealing with telephone enquiries.
* Distribute stock and non-stock goods and freight around the hospital using barrows or cages as required.
* Distribute equipment to designated areas throughout the hospital.
* Obtain signatures for goods delivered and return signed paperwork to the Admin Department in the Medical Equipment store to comply with audit processes.
* Assist in delivering pharmacy products to wards or Community departments.
* Keep the Medical Equipment stores area clean, tidy and in a fit state for staff to carry out their duties.
* Pick up stock items from wards and deliver to other areas in the hospital when required.
* The role involves working weekends and night shifts.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Must hold or be able to take training for, or have the equivalent of non-patient transport support level 3 RQF.
* Attendance at novice leadership improvement sessions within the first year of the role.
Experience
* Capable of lifting/moving heavy goods.
* Attention to detail to ensure correct goods are correctly processed.
Knowledge
* Logistical knowledge of hospital layout.
* Knowledge of Microsoft packages and admin duties.
