Role Description
To lead and manage large-scale Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) programmes across council and housing association portfolios. The role is responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, delivering high-volume testing and remedial works within agreed KPIs, budgets, and timeframes, and maintaining excellent client relationships. The Electrical Contracts Manager will oversee operational delivery, resource planning, and quality assurance of EICR activities, acting as the key point of contact for clients while ensuring all works comply with current regulations, including BS7671 and the Electricity at Work Regulations.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified electrician with relevant industry certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent).
* Proven experience managing large-scale EICR programmes within social housing, local authorities, or housing associations.
* Strong working knowledge of electrical compliance, inspection, and testing requirements in line with BS 7671.
* Demonstrable experience in interpreting EICR results, including classification codes (C1, C2, C3, FI), and managing associated remedial works.
* Extensive understanding of UK health & safety legislation, particularly Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
* Proven leadership and people management experience, with the ability to manage large teams of engineers and subcontractors.
* Experience working with Schedule of Rates (SOR), contract variations, and budget management.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs and maximise contract performance.
* Experience of working within KPI-driven environments, particularly in social housing compliance contracts.
* Excellent client-facing skills, with experience managing stakeholder relationships and contract performance meetings.
* Competent in using IT systems, including compliance software, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office packages.
* Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple programmes simultaneously.
* Knowledge of regulatory bodies and accreditation schemes such as NICEIC, NAPIT, or equivalent (desirable).
