Position Title: IEM Lead Engineer

Role & Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to the Vehicle Architecture's Efficiency Product Owner and working within the Agile operating model.
2. Conducting strategic target setting for the Vehicle Efficiency attribute (including competitive positioning assessment & benchmarking, assessment of fleet compliance requirements, customer feedback data analysis, real-world customer data analysis, reviews of legislative requirements etc)
3. Coordinating and contributing towards Vehicle Efficiency attribute virtual verifications and data analysis
4. Conducting target compatibility assessment and negotiation between the Vehicle Efficiency attribute and vehicle energy node owners
5. Collaborating with energy node owners in influencing and defining strategic technology roadmaps compatible with Vehicle Efficiency attribute requirements and customer trends
6. Supporting effective Vehicle Efficiency attribute governance throughout vehicle programmes, identifying and making recommendations for how to handle risks and opportunities as they arise
7. Ensuring Vehicle Efficiency attribute and energy node assumption data is robustly and efficiently administrated and made available to business stakeholders
8. Collaborating with tools and methods teams to ensure Vehicle Efficiency attribute development requirements are well defined and aligned with programme objectives
9. Where programme delivery imperatives allow, contribute and add value to tools and methods development project work
10. Undertaking any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
Experience Required:
11. Strong technical engineering background with evidence of a methodical, structured approach to problem solving
12. Significant experience of Vehicle attribute and/or vehicle system delivery
13. Detailed knowledge of vehicle efficiency legislative homologation/certification methods, processes and implementation
14. Technical understanding of how vehicle energy nodes (road load, propulsion efficiency, electrical loads etc) affect vehicle-level efficiency and driving range
15. Strong presentation skills with the ability to use data and visualisations to articulate complex risks, opportunities and recommendations in an easily digestible way
16. Good communication skills, with the ability to simplify and articulate complex technical subject matters
17. Self-motivated and independent, able to work and deliver value autonomously within Agile operating model
18. Well-organised and diligent, able to keep a handle on technical administration
19. Educated to Degree level (ideally with a focus on Mechanical or System Engineering) with significant relevant industrial experience.
Experience Preferred:
20. Knowledge and/or experience of working with Agile operating principles
21. Knowledge and/or experience of component/rig testing methodologies related to vehicle efficiency
22. Knowledge and/or experience of Computer Aided Engineering testing methodologies related to vehicle efficiency
