Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer Location: Ledbury HR8 Pay Rate: £19.23 p/h Contract: Temporary to Permanent gap-personnel are currently recruiting for a temp to perm role of Multi-Skilled Engineer, for one of the manufacturers of frozen fruits in Ledbury. The Production Engineer holds a critical role in the Company; the need for our equipment and machinery to be well maintained and in excellent working order at all times is vital to our production. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, the post holder will be able to work across both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines. The Production Engineer is required to support production requirements; some shift working and on-call support during weekends is necessary. Shift: Monday-Friday 05:30-14:00 / 14:00-22:30 weekly rotational Hours: 40 hrs week Key Responsibilities: Complete proactive planned mechanical maintenance checks/tasks to schedule to minimise equipment downtime and log activity on relevant systems Complete work requests within agreed timescales Promptly attend to breakdowns and support in getting equipment and machinery back to correct operating condition Root cause analysis and elimination of the cause Leading on continuous improvement projects to increase the reliability and efficiency of our processes Install new equipment Obtain quotes and order replacement and spare parts as required Assist production teams and modify equipment in order to enhance manufacturing efficiencies and health and safety improvements Experience Proven experience of working in electrical and mechanical engineering Good understanding of working with production equipment and PLC’s Previous experience of working within an FMCG (particularly food or drink) environment would be an advantage Qualifications Successful applicants will need to hold a relevant Engineering Qualification such as: Time served apprenticeship City & Guilds in Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering NVQ Level 4 ONC/HND BTEC Pay Rate: £19.23 p/h Contract: Temporary to Permanent What We Offer Competitive salary.
