Job Description
An experienced Electrical Design Engineer is required to take ownership of electrical and control system design across complex industrial projects from concept through to commissioning. This is a varied, technically challenging role offering full project lifecycle exposure within a growing engineering business delivering international projects.

Description
Key responsibilities:
* Lead electrical design activities across multiple concurrent engineering projects
* Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
* Design industrial control systems, MCCs, and power distribution solutions
* Specify electrical components, instrumentation, and control devices
* Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
* Ensure compliance with IEC, ATEX, UL, and relevant industry standards
* Support manufacturing, F.A.T testing, and commissioning activities
* Produce technical documentation including O&M manuals
* Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes
Profile
The successful candidate
* HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
* Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in electrical design within industrial, process, or automation environments
* Strong experience using AutoCAD Electrical (or similar CAD package)
* Good knowledge of control panels, MCCs, and power distribution systems
* Understanding of industrial standards and hazardous area environments (ATEX/IECEx beneficial)
* Practical awareness of commissioning and installation activities
* Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills
* Able to work both independently and within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
