An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy Department as a full time driver at Dorset County Hospital. As a key member of this team, you will deliver medicines across Dorset to hospitals, mental health units and patients.
This post requires a motivated and enthusiastic individual with demonstrable customer service and communication skills along with a high standard of driving. Opportunities may arise to support home delivery service supplying medicines to patients throughout Dorset and beyond.
The successful candidate will work without direct supervision ensuring an effective and efficient service is always provided, promoting a positive and professional image at all times.
Small team of well - motivated drivers with a strong work ethic and working within a very busy pharmacy, great atmosphere within the team and motivated to help each other and the service.
Benefits are working for the NHS to provide an essential service for hospitals and patients. Hours from 08:30 - 17:00 - 37.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
* The role will involve the day-to-day delivery of medicines throughout the week with the possibility of Saturday and Bank Holiday requirements. There are scheduled routes, but participation in route planning may also be necessary
* You will be required to adhere to the principles of Good Distribution Practice and be the front face of our service liaising with patients and hospital staff.
* You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure and have a flexible approach. Attention to detail and record keeping skills are essential.

Essential criteria
* Full Clean UK Driving Licence
Desirable criteria
* GCSE (grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths or equivalent
* Manual Handling training
* Health & Safety training
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of driving in a commercial or NHS setting.
* Evidence of movement of stock/loads and security implications.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of Health & Safety/Manual Handling
* Experience of driving light goods vehicles/vehicle maintenance
* Evidence of accuracy and attention to detail when record keeping
