Hays is delighted to present a new role on behalf of our Birmingham-based private-sector client. Our client require a Payroll Assistant to join the finance function and assist with the responsibilities outlined below.
Your new role
This role will be covering the monthly payroll for the employees of multiple departments owned by our client. The main responsibilities of the role include, but aren't exclusive to:
- Ensure validity of payroll data, processing overtime/deductions when appropriate
- Calculating gross-to-net, and creating the relevant payment file for sending to the bank
- HMRC submissions
- Staying aware of any regulations orpliance changes, and assisting with organisational conformation to these changes
- New Starters, Leavers, Tax code changes etc.,
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a payroll setting
- Enthusiastic and hard-working personality who isn't afraid to work with initiative
- Ability to be a team-player as well as lead when need be
- Ability to work 5 days in office
