ROLE DESCRIPTION
Join Our Team at Newcastle College's Construction Academy.
Do you have a passion to develop the skills and talents of our students to succeed in their journey through education, training or employment?
Can you lead a team of professional Construction colleagues and demonstrate our college values as a role model for the department?
We're looking for someone like you to play a key role in supporting the Head of Curriculum to continuously improve what we do, and how we do it.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide support to the Head of Curriculum in the management of the section in order to ensure our performance is aligned to College key performance indicators.
* To line manage direct reports to ensure high levels of performance within the curriculum area.
* To support the Head of Curriculum in ensuring the delivery of a high standard of learner experience.
* To lead the implementation of industry standard and College requirements including quality, and health and safety.
* To prepare and deliver high quality learning and assessment activities that drive learner progress.
Requirements:
* Qualified to a minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in one of the following areas - Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Drylining/Plastering, or Roofing.
* Knowledge and experience of Construction industry practices and Health and Safety regulations.
* Hold a post-16 teaching qualification, and the ability to teach consistently to a grade 2 (good) standard or higher.
* Hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or be willing to achieve this within a given timeframe.
* Experience of curriculum design and innovation, planning, delivering, and assessing.
* Strong communication skills, oral and written to ensure effective task management of staff and quality processes.
* Appropriate IT skills to make effective use of College reporting systems to support monitor and enhance provision.
* Strong personal organisation and ability to self-manage workload to meet deadlines.
