We’re seeking a knowledgeable garden landscaping professional to join our client as their new Landscape Design Manager. Managing a team of four Landscapers, you’ll be leading the successful and established Landscaping division of a well-established independent family-run business located close to the North Norfolk coast in the town of Fakenham. This full-time, permanent role is working from 7:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday and comes with a salary range between £35k-£42k per annum plus vehicle. The Job The Landscape Design Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day activities, overseeing the entire lifecycle of landscape projects from initial client consultation, design, supervising teams on site to the final installation. Leading and motivating a team of four (x2 Landscapers and x2 Labourers) you’ll also be responsible for: Timely follow up of enquiries, booking and attending initial site visit with the customer Measure sites and build up the client brief, taking into account the customer’s budget and wishes Drawing up sketches and scaled drawings (by hand or CAD system) producing the quote based on the sketch/design, offering different material and planting options Ahead of works starting, visiting the site to set out and discuss the work plan with the customer Effective management of landscaping projects to ensure they run on time and to budget, control expenditures especially in the event of unexpected issues Act as the central point of contact for the customers and the landscaping team, guiding both parties through the process and regularly checking in before, during and after the works General logistics planning for projects; ordering of materials, skips, allocating machinery to sites for specific projects Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service, good communication and delivering the desired end result. Upholding a high level of Health & Safety on-site, ensuring projects are carried out in a safe manner and that final construction is safe for customer use. Requirements This role would suit an organised, confident garden enthusiast who has a good mix of hard and soft landscaping experience, along with excellent design skills and strong horticultural knowledge. You’ll need brilliant professional communication skills, and a good standard of written English for customer communication. You’ll need to be customer-focused, delivering excellent service from start to finish. Proven experience in landscaping/garden design or a similar environment. Knowledge and experience of hard and soft landscaping i.e., the construction process and plant knowledge Sound understanding of Health & Safety and related documentation (RAMS, COSHH). Confident managing projects, people, and client relationships. Computer literate – proficient in MS Word, Excel, and general admin systems. Approachable and a natural communicator. Excellent communication and organisation skills and able to use initiative with a professional and approachable nature. Lead and motivate staff through regular communication, performance monitoring, and hands-on support.
