Early Years Manager - Summer - St Catherines School - Twickenham
Hours: 08:00-18:00, Monday - Friday. (Total hours will not exceed 47.5 hours per week)
Salary: £580.24 - £718.65 per week, depending on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size
Note: Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.
Reports to: Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

Early Years Manager Duties
1. Support and deliver induction training and oversee setup days before camp begins.
2. Complete paperwork and manage high-risk activities in accordance with Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice.
3. Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment.
4. Ensure implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage by planning Explore and Play sessions.
5. Serve as the Designated Person (DP) for safeguarding, dealing with child protection and safeguarding issues.
6. Update and communicate regularly with Area Managers and Central Office.
7. Conduct observations and participate in high-risk activities with staff while engaging with children.
8. Regularly check staff understanding of safeguarding procedures.
9. Act as the main contact for OFSTED inspections.
10. Communicate with parents, handle administrative tasks, and manage Early Years staff.
11. Maintain tidiness of site and baserooms, and ensure equipment is stored properly.
12. Assess and review staff performance at the end of the season.
13. Support staff during sessions as needed.
Requirements
1. Attend mandatory senior training events.
2. Hold early years qualifications (e.g., Primary qualification, CACHE L3, Primary PGCE, BA Primary Education).
3. Have experience working in a childcare setting.
4. Be eligible to work in the UK.
5. Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing one on the Update Service.
6. Provide satisfactory professional and academic references.
7. Attend and deliver induction training, likely within the 7 days before camp starts.
8. Complete online training annually.
9. Coordinate camp pack-up at the end of the season.
10. Aim for at least half of the senior staff to be Paediatric First Aid trained, depending on camp size.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Follow health and safety procedures diligently.
2. Proactively address safety issues.
3. Prepare for induction training using relevant manuals.
4. Complete staff evaluations at contract end.
5. Report child protection concerns to the Central Office.
6. Be aware of and assist with children’s additional needs, including medical or dietary requirements.
7. Administer medication correctly and document appropriately.
8. Bring swimwear daily for swimming sessions, if required.
9. Perform other tasks as necessary based on organizational needs and objectives.
