Position Overview
Security Supervisor based at Southern Water contracts in Otterbourne, SO212SW. Permanent, 42 hours per week. Salary £32,053.00.
Shift Pattern
4 on 4 off. 7am – 7pm. Candidates must have own transport.
Responsibilities
* Hours of coverage 19:00–07:00 on a 4 on 4 off night shift, managing visitors and contractors, host liaison, and health & safety induction.
* Greeting customers and clients with a customer‑service focus.
* Ensuring security protocols, issuing visitor passes.
* Registering visitors in and out, notifying the on‑site host, and tracking arrivals and departures.
* Responding to email queries related to access control and other security requests.
* Compiling reports on visitor and staff movements.
* Checking visitors, contractors and deliveries in and out of the area on a daily basis.
* Performing unlock and lock‑up duties as required.
* Managing keys: issuance, daily access passes, audit of passes, and sign‑in/sign‑out.
* First aid, mental first responder and fire marshal trained – responding to alarms and supporting evacuation and emergency incidents with the local security team.
* Investigating incidents, identifying hazards or damages, and reporting near‑misses.
* Supporting emergency access control of main gates if they fail until resolved.
* Assisting with packages and deliveries for authorised staff, recording and storing them promptly.
Requirements
* SIA License – Door Supervisor: more than 2 years’ experience.
* SIA CCTV License required.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and comprehensive reporting.
* Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proactive problem‑solving approach to address potential security issues before escalation.
* Continuous improvement mindset for security processes and team efficiency.
* Flexibility to manage operations during non‑standard hours, including nights and weekends.
* Customer‑focused mindset to ensure tenants and clients feel secure.
* Ability to manage payroll, billing, and purchase orders efficiently.
* Must have evidence of the right to work in the UK; disclosure check may be required.
