The Brain Tumour Charity is leading the way in research, support, and advocacy for everyone affected by brain tumours. Our mission is to accelerate a cure and improve life for all those impacted.

Are you a budding creative looking to gain hands‑on experience across both digital and print design while making a real difference? As our Junior Designer you’ll play a key role in our Marketing team, reporting to the Creative Manager and collaborating with a highly‑skilled creative team of designers and copywriters.

From contributing to campaign concepts and execution to developing toolkits, printed materials and digital assets you’ll tackle a diverse range of creative projects. You’ll also help shape our new visual identity and bring your own creative flair to every project.


Responsibilities

* Support the creation of engaging digital and print materials, including campaign assets, sub‑brands, toolkits and internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with the Charity’s brand guidelines.
* Assist in producing digital assets such as social media graphics, email templates and website visuals, working closely with channel owners and learning how to apply current trends and techniques effectively.
* Help maintain and apply the Charity’s visual identity across all work, building a strong understanding of brand guidelines and best practices.
* Collaborate with colleagues across teams to help develop clear briefs and contribute ideas to creative concepts.
* Assist on a range of creative projects from initial briefing through to final production, including concept development, responding to feedback, preparing files and supporting delivery across platforms.
* Stay curious and proactive in exploring new design ideas, tools and trends, contributing suggestions to enhance creative output.
* Manage your workload across multiple projects with support, working to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
* Support the organisation and maintenance of creative tools and processes, including file management, production planning and updating project boards (e.g. Trello).
* Actively seek feedback and development opportunities to grow your skills in both digital and print design, keeping up to date with industry trends.


Experience

* 1‑3 years’ experience in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Content Creation, Digital Design with a track record of delivering high‑quality creative work across various projects.
* Exposure to different types of projects, including print and digital design, branding, marketing collateral and campaign work.
* Proficiency in developing, editing and producing creative assets for digital and print.
* A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects that highlight creativity, technical skills and problem‑solving.
* Collaborating with and supporting creatives in research and ideation, brainstorming, creative concepts, pitching and executing.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Basic understanding of working on design projects from concept to completion, with a willingness to learn how to handle timelines and integrate feedback.
* Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
* Collaborative mindset, eager to work with various teams to interpret briefs and contribute to creative solutions.
* Fundamental knowledge of design principles, including typography, colour theory, composition and layout.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and openness to learning additional tools and software.
* Creativity and eagerness to bring fresh ideas while maintaining consistency in design across channels.
* Strong focus on detail, with a proactive approach to ensuring designs are polished and error‑free.
* Willingness to develop clear communication skills to explain design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
* Openness to feedback with a positive and constructive attitude toward growth and improvement.
* Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and project needs, paired with a desire to explore new ideas and creative approaches.

Location

While contracted to our office in Fleet, Hampshire, our team supports a blend of office and home working provided you have adequate broadband and IT capability, with an average of 2 days in the office each week.


Working Hours

37.5 hours per week, with some out of hours working.


Salary

£34,300 gross per annum.
