In July 2025, the Government launched its strategy, Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life, with the ambition that 75% of five‑year‑olds in England will achieve a good level of development by 2028. Supporting families with parenting and the HLE is central to this ambition to meet this target, and a key part of the vision for integrated family services - bringing together health, education, early years, and wider services to give families a cohesive offer of support through Best Start Family Hub’s (BSFH).
We are looking for motivated Family Hub Workers to join our Family Hub service, supporting families across Buckinghamshire and helping to deliver positive outcomes for children, young people and their families in line with the Best Start in Life aims and ambition.
We have 8 full time positions available on an 18 month fixed term/secondment basis.

About the role
As a Best Start in Life Family Hub Worker, you will play an important role in helping to deliver the ambition that 75% of five‑year‑olds in England will achieve a good level of development by 2028 locally. Roles are available countywide and, depending on locality, you will work across several family centres.

You will:
1. Plan, deliver and support universal sessions and targeted groups including evening and weekend sessions.
2. Provide parenting and the Home Learning Environment support.
3. Provide a welcoming first point of contact for families and professionals.
4. Offer information, advice and signposting.
5. Support effective transitions between services.
6. Work with partner agencies in Buckinghamshire’s Family Hub Network to provide a holistic response.
Buckinghamshire’s Family Hub Network is a partnership between professionals across all sectors working together to help families and residents to get the help they need - and to get it early - to improve their resilience and their family life.
Services within the Family Hub Network are accessible in several ways, (for example, virtual, physical, via outreach services and community venues) and there is an active emphasis on openness, welcome, and whole family working.

You will be creative, organised, thorough and approachable, with experience of working with children, young people and families in a community setting. You will enjoy working as part of a team, while also being able to use your initiative and work proactively.
